The BJP sharpened its campaign for the high-octane election with a mega rally at Brigade Parade Grounds in Kolkata. Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Ms Banerjee of backstabbing the people of the state. 570 km away in north Bengal, Ms Banerjee held a roadshow in protest against the hike in price of cooking gas, petrol and diesel.
