What is happening to the grand old party of India? After its worst-ever performance in a general election, the Congress party is on a free fall - losing one election after another. And what is worse is the total silence from the party's top brass - mainly the Gandhis - on how to revive the party. Off the record and outside the glare of television cameras, Congress leaders are conceding that the party has never seen such dark days - not even in the aftermath of its historic defeat in 1977, when the party still managed to capture 153 seats. So has the time come for the Congress party to look beyond the Gandhis to revive the organisation? Is the Congress short of ideas to take on the might of PM Modi?
