Energy drinks have a lot of sugar - one bottle/can of drink may exceed the maximum quantity of added sugars recommended for an entire day. Large amounts of caffeine intake may cause serious heart & blood vessel problems and harm kids' still-developing cardiovascular and nervous systems. Guarana, commonly added to energy drinks, also contains caffeine. A worrying trend, the lethal mix of alcohol & energy drinks can be particularly dangerous as one may feel less intoxicated, but the motor coordination and reaction time may be just as impaired.
