The son of a farmer in a remote Uttar Pradesh village has scored 98.2 per cent in his Class 12 examinations, which paved the way for his admission to a prestigious university in the US on full scholarship. Anurag Tiwari, who belongs to Sarasan village in Lakhimpur district, said he got selected to Cornell University in the US, where he would be pursuing higher studies in Economics. Speaking of hardships that came his way, he told NDTV, "When life throws challenges at you, you know success better. My three elder sisters grew up at a time when it was not considered significant to give a girl child good education. My family wanted me to get world class education."
