"Who Will Investigate CBI?" Akhilesh Yadav's Dig At Government Over Raids | Read
Hours after CBI chief Alok Verma resigned following his removal from the top post by a panel led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and a Delhi court asked the agency to investigate its number 2 Rakesh Asthana in a bribery case, former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav quipped "who will investigate the CBI?" "There are so many fights happening within the CBI, so many allegations and counter-allegations... Who will probe the CBI?" the Samajwadi Party chief said amid reports that he will be questioned by the CBI in the sand mining scam.

- And if they had not got those 73, it's quite possible they would not have come to power (in 2014).

- Both Samajwadi Party and BSP are with people, they want to work for progress.
- BJP has taught us this: Bring parties together to win elections.
- Any alliance can be successful when people and party workers are fine with it.
- People were tired of the BJP because they fooled everyone.
- I am happy that two parties (SP and BSP) are coming together.
- I have said in the past, even if I have to take two steps back, I am willing to do so for the alliance.
- We have not thought about who will be senior or junior partner.
- More than who gets how many seats, it's more important to defeat the BJP.
- Won't speak on Congress but can give them the two seats they have always held (Amethi and Rae Bareli).
- I cannot say anything about the Congress at this moment.
- Congress party is there, their leaders are there. But cannot say in what form or shape they will be with us.
- The reason I cannot say anything on this is because first we need to resolve the alliance of SP and BSP.
- Both BSP and SP are political parties, natural to have different ideologies and fight against each other.
- But the situation right now is that we have to unite to fight the BJP.
- Even Ram Manohar Lohia used to say that we have to unite to benefit the country.

- When I was working for the metro, expressway, distributing laptops, they called me backward.
- Reservation is a good thing.
- It has been going on since the 1800s, since the British were there.
- You reserve seats on planes and restaurants for peace of mind.
- What BJP says, it doesn't happen. We have seen so with demonetisation, GST and will do for reservation too.
- I just know that hungry bellies cannot sing holy hymns (when asked will Ram temple benefit the BJP?) We will accept what the Supreme Court decides.
