A on the lives of Jyotirao Govindrao Phule and Savitribai Phule have been delayed. The film titled "Phule", directed by Anant Mahadevan stars Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa in the lead roles, is currently mired in controversy in Maharashtra. Caught between the expectations of the Brahmin community on the one hand and the censor board's suggestions on the other, the release of this film has been postponed for the time being, with politics taking over. The film was supposed to release on 11th April 2025, which marks 197th birth anniversary of one of the greatest social reformers of India but it will now release in theatres on April 25. The director Anant Mahadevan says the release of Phule being pushed is to clear the controversy surrounding the film and said there aren't any cuts, but certain amendments suggested by the censor board.
