Arikomban, the lone wild tusker who caused havoc in Tamil Nadu's Cumbum town a few days ago, remains in the news. The Kerala High Court dismissed a request asking for Arikomban to be relocated in Kerala from Tamil Nadu. The court said the Tamil Nadu government has offered to take AriKomban deep into the forests and found no reason for the tusker be relocated to Kerala. The Tamil Nadu government announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the family of a man who died when the tusker went on a rampage in the Theni district. It has also set up a large team to capture Arikomban.
