Wildfires Damage Homes In Western Japan, Force Residents To Evacuate

Wildfires have hit at least two areas in western Japan, damaging a number of homes and forcing dozens of residents to evacuate as hundreds of firefighters battled the widening blaze in the mountains. In Iwahari city in Ehime Prefecture, large trees were ablaze on a hillside as a helicopter was seen dropping water on the fire. In the western city of Okayama, the fire broke out Sunday afternoon, and has since damaged five homes, and several hundred residents in the affected district were advised to evacuate.
