Will a political president help?
Becoming the President of India, the highest constitutional office in the country, is not going to be just a titular job. Given the trend of coalition governments at the Centre, the President will play a crucial role. More significantly, with General Elections due in 2014, it will be the President, in the event of a fractured verdict, who will decide on which political formation will form the next government.
