President Pranab Mukherjee has called for a re-look at the century-and-a-half-old Indian Penal Code to bring up to date with the times we live in. This at a time when the debate around charging JNU Student's Union president Kanhaiya Kumar with sedition is raging in parliament, classrooms and homes across India. Today the media accessed video taken on the February 17 after he was attacked within the trial court premises, and a Supreme Court appointed panel of lawyers rushed there to find out what happened. The video shows Kanhaiya's lawyer Vrinda Grover first detailing just how the attack happened, and then records Kanhaiya's own statement where he says he was thrashed, abused and virtually stripped while the police stood by and did nothing. Senior lawyers question the police on the spot who have no answers for them. Their accounts are chilling, but will they help Kanhaiya's case?
