Will the Lokpal Bill be passed?
As it readies to enter the last lap of its journey to becoming a reality, the Lokpal Bill faces a major hurdle. A united Opposition, unhappy with several provisions in the proposed legislation, is ready with a flood of amendments when the bill is discussed and voted on in the Lok Sabha. Even if it goes through the Lower House, the bill could be defeated as the government is in a minority in the Rajya Sabha.
