Speaking on the NDTV Dialogues, retired Justice AP Shah says he wishes the verdict in the Judge BH Loya case, calling for a probe into his death, had been different. The former head of the law commission also had strong words on a recent judgement by a Chief Justice-headed bench on his powers to assign cases. While dismissing the opposition's bid to impeach Chief Justice Dipak Misra as "purely political", Justice Shah also expressed his view on the elevation of Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who is tipped to be the Supreme Court Chief Justice after Justice Misra retires in October.
