The Chennai Metro has resumed services after five months. Wearing masks and social distancing are mandatory in stations and coaches. Only three passengers can sit on the five-seat bench and stickers have been put up on seats to ensure social distancing. QR code system ensures contact-less travel; travel card readers at stations help avoid queue at counters. Passengers are encouraged to use smart cards and one time travel tokens are discouraged. The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation lost around Rs 12 crore in revenue every month. NDTV spoke to Pradeep Yadav, the MD of Chennai Metro, who took a ride on the first train that started from the Chennai Airport Station today.
