Women find low representation in TN
While stalwarts in politics claim to be committed for the 33 per cent reservation for women in the Parliament, they hardly follow it in their own parties. In Tamil Nadu, women candidates have been literally sidelined in the run up to the assembly polls. Even Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has been frugal in giving representation for women. There are just two women out of the 29 candidates the party has announced.
