Women of Worth: Meet Amla Ruia, a Nominee in Social Category
Meet Amla Ruia, the woman who brought water to hundred villages in Rajasthan. Founder of Aakar Charitable Trust, she was awarded the Lakshmipat National Leadership Award (Community Service and Social Upliftment category) in 2011. Her organisation has constructed 200 check dams with the participation of villagers, and impacted livelihoods of over 2 lakh people who earn a combined income of Rs.300 crore per annum.
