The efforts of India made towards the welfare of the poor are being acknowledged across the globe, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a public gathering in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. "During the COVID pandemic, I decided that I will not let the poor sleep hungry. I know what is the agony of an empty stomach. I don't need to find books to understand your pain. We started 'Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana' and provided free ration to more than 80 crore people and today the whole world appreciates our efforts," said Prime Minister Modi.
