Director Francis Ford Coppola: 'Give Me Less Money, Give Me More Friends'
"My feeling is I'm a person who has one foot in the past and one foot in the future. I have one foot in cinema and one foot in theater. I am split between the extraordinary worlds that we live in, you know? So it's hard for me to fit in with with some of the trends going on because everyone's so worried about money. Money. You know, I say. You know, give me less money, give me more friends. Friends are valuable. Money is very, very fragile. You know, I mean, you could have had a million Marks at the end of World War II in Germany, you wouldn't be able to buy a loaf of bread. But if you had helped someone out, wouldn't need, they would help you out. And that and that's what I feel. Friends are more important than money."
