Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 10 in the excise policy case. Delhi Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai termed Arvind Kejriwal's interim bail 'a ray of hope to save democracy of India'.
Speaking to ANI, Gopal Rai said, "There is a wave of happiness in the entire country. People of Delhi are happy. Supreme Court's decision has shown a ray of hope. The entire country is thankful to the SC. The fight against dictatorship and to save democracy & Constitution will be strengthened after the release of Arvind Kejriwal. Our country will win this fight."
Notably, the Supreme Court granted Delhi Chief Minister interim bail till June 1 to enable him to campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, it had not allowed him to perform any official duties as Chief Minister.
