ICMR guidelines state that the kit can be used only by symptomatic individuals & immediate contacts of confirmed cases, in order to avoid overuse.

Each kit will have a nasal swab, a pre-filled extraction tube, one test card along with a manual describing the entire process.

The kit will also have a biohazard waste bag to safely dispose the items.

Users have to download Mylab Coviself app from the Google play store and app store, fill-in the individual's credentials before proceeding with the test.

The user is required to click a picture of the test card after completing the procedure with the same mobile phone on which the app has been installed.

As per ICMR guidelines the app will pick the image on its own via data that will be centrally captured in a secure server.

According to Mylab, the new home test is now available in markets at
