A booster shot is a means of strengthening one's immune system further against the virus. It can be given once the population is vaccinated.

Booster dose will be a second-generation vaccine, which would be better in terms of the immunity these give.

Trials of booster vaccine shots are already going on. One will probably need a booster dose by the end of this year.

Many countries like United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Bahrain & United Kingdom, which had inoculated most of its population have already decided to offer a booster shot.

However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organisation have not offered any recommendations on this as of now.
