However, a few simple preventive measures can help control its spread to an extent

1. Remove stagnant water from around your home, such as in flower pots, containers, and gutters, as these are breeding grounds for mosquitoes

2. Apply mosquito repellent creams or sprays on exposed skin, especially during the early morning and late afternoon when mosquitoes are most active

3. Wear long-sleeved shirts and pants to minimize exposed skin, particularly during outdoor activities

4. Use mosquito nets over beds and windows to prevent mosquitoes from entering living areas, especially while sleeping
