The event will showcase all seven planets - Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune - aligning in the sky at the same time

The planetary alignment will be visible across India and most cities will be able to witness this rare event approximately 45 minutes after sunset

So, to make the most of this once-in-a-generation event, follow these simple steps

Find a location away from city lights and choose a spot with an unobstructed view of the horizon

Look for bright objects as planets usually appear as bright, steady lights in the sky. During a planetary parade, you'll see several of these bright points in a row

Consider using binoculars or a small telescope. While some planets can be seen with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope will provide a clearer view

Wait for the sun to set and use a compass or sky guide to look in the right direction. Knowing where to look based on the time of day is crucial for spotting the planets
