A person should have a passport-size photograph, an ID proof (Aadhar card, passport, high school mark sheet) and an address proof to apply for the same

Here are the steps you need to follow to apply for a voter ID card online

Visit the official website of the Voters' Service Portal  (https://voters.eci.gov.in/)

Under the Forms tab, click on 'Fill Form 6' and create an account. Fill in important details like email ID, phone number, etc. and complete the registration process

Once your account is created, you will be directed towards the main form which will ask for personal details, contact information, Aadhar card, address etc

Upload scanned copies of the required documents (identity proof, address proof, passport-size photograph)

After completing the details, review your application and press submit

Track the status of your application at frequent intervals

You can also do this entire process offline, by downloading Form 6. After downloading, print the form, fill in the details, and submit it to the Electoral Office in your city
