Helping someone with anxiety requires responses based on love and acceptance, as well as a desire to see your loved one improve

Understand the physical signs including lightheadedness, sweating, nausea, restlessness, and shortness of breath. Validate their feelings and know it's okay to not be okay

Don't tell them to calm down. Instead say, "I'm here if you'd like to talk about what's on your mind" or "I see you're feeling anxious. What can I do to help right now?"

Encourage them to focus on things they can change and help them discover new coping mechanisms
