The University Grants Commission (UGC) declares National Eligibility Test (NET) scores valid for PhD admissions from academic session 2024-25

From June 2024 onwards, the NET candidates will be declared eligible in three categories:

Eligible for admission to PhD with JRF and appointment as assistant professor

Eligible for admission to PhD without JRF and appointment as assistant professor

Eligible for admission to PhD programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as assistant professor

The NET result will be declared in percentile, along with the candidate's marks, for PhD admission consideration

For Category 2 and 3 qualifiers, test scores hold 70% weightage, while interviews carry 30% weightage for PhD admissions

PhD admission will depend on combined merit from NET marks and interview/viva voce performance

The NET marks in categories 2 and 3 will be valid for a period of one year for admission to PhD
