Shark Tank Judge Namita Thapar Set To Earn ₹ 127 Crore From IPO

Namita Thapar is the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and also the daughter of Emcure Pharma CEO Satish Ramanlal Mehta.

Ms Thapar will sell about 12.68 lakh of her company shares through the Offer-for-sale component.

It will fetch her nearly ₹127 crore after the company's Initial Public Offer was launched.

Ms Thapar's initial investment was at an average price of ₹ 3.44 per share, which has now grown to ₹ 960 to ₹ 1,008 per share.

She is thus expected to get a 293X return on her initial investment in Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Ms Thapar is from Pune. She holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business and is a Chartered Accountant.

She has also been reappointed as the board director for the next five years.

Apart from her, other selling shareholders in the Offer for Sale (OFS) include promoters Satish Ramanlal Mehta, Sunil Rajanikant Mehta and Samit Satish Mehta.

Thapar has received the Economic Times '40 under Forty' award and has also been listed on the Economic Times 2017 Women Ahead List.
