The half-eaten Apple logo is one of the most recognisable logos in the world, and it has an interesting story behind it

The logo was designed by Rob Janoff in 1977 for Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the co-founders of Apple

According to Mr Janoff, Steve Jobs asked him to create a logo that would be "fun, spirited, and not too intimidating"

Mr Janoff presented several options, but the one that stood out was the image of an apple with a bite taken out of it

He explained that the bite was included to give it a sense of scale and to ensure people didn't confuse it with a cherry or tomato

The bite also symbolically represented the acquisition of knowledge, reminiscent of the biblical story of Adam and Eve

It suggests that Apple's products will empower users with knowledge and insight, much like the forbidden fruit did for Adam and Eve

Further, the play on words between "bite" and "byte" is a clever nod to the computing world, where a byte is a unit of digital information

The logo has undergone several minor modifications over the years. It transitioned from the rainbow-colored design to a monochromatic apple

Despite these modifications, the bitten apple has remained a constant
