1. Sindhudurg Fort: Located on an island just off the coast of Malvan in Maharashtra, Sindhudurg Fort was built by the Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji to protect his kingdom from foreign invasions

2. Murud-Janjira Fort: Situated on an island near the coastal town of Murud in Maharashtra, Janjira Fort was one of the strongest marine forts in India

Built by the Siddis, it remained unconquered by both the Marathas and the British. The fort is famous for its robust construction, 19 rounded bastions, and secret underwater escape routes
