Reaching Tuvalu presents a challenge. Flights with Air Fiji arrive a mere three times a week, all departing from Nadi International Airport in Fiji

Tuvalu also faces a shrinking population, and the UN has identified it as one of the islands most at risk of disappearing beneath rising sea levels this century
