World's Most Powerful Passports 2024: Where Does India Stand?

The Henley Passport Index has released the list of the world's strongest passports

France has topped the list, as its passport provides visa-free access to 194 countries

Along with France, the top-ranked countries are Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain

Finland, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden are at the 2nd place, while Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, and the UK are tied in 3rd place

Belgium, Norway and Portugal share the 4th spot, while Australia, Greece, Malta, New Zealand and Switzerland are at the 5th position

The United States, Canada, Czechia, Poland are tied at the 6th place, while Hungary, Lithuania are at the 7th spot

India's passport ranking, meanwhile, has slipped one place from last year, moving from 84th to 85th position

However, visa-free travel for Indians has gone up from 60 to 62 in the last one year

India's neighbouring nations like Pakistan is at 106th place, Sri Lanka at 101st place, while Bangladesh occupies the 102nd position

Afghanistan remained the country with the world's weakest passport, as it was ranked 109th, with visa-free travel to only 28 countries
