Ilha da Queimada Grande, also known as Snake Island, is located in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Brazil

It's famous for being home to thousands of venomous golden lancehead pit vipers, making it one of the most dangerous places on Earth

The island is about 93 miles off the coast of Sao Paulo. It is small, with an area of only 106 acres

The island is home to an estimated 2,000 to 4,000 golden lancehead pit vipers, which is about one to two snakes per 200 square meters
