The honour of the longest speech goes to William Henry Harrison, the 9th president of the United States

He delivered an inaugural speech lasting an hour and forty minutes on March 4, 1841

The speech comprised 8,445 words. But, the weather was harsh that day, and he contracted a cold, which contributed to his death just a month later

Delivered in 1793, George Washington's speech remains the shortest presidential inaugural address in US history, containing only 135 words
