Manmohan Singh Talked of Restructuring, Not Replacing the Planning Commission: Tarun Gogoi
New Delhi: Seeking to strengthen cooperative federalism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that states must have a greater role in the new body which will replace the existing Planning Commission. Most chief ministers have favoured an alternative structure that would replace the Planning Commission, in which states would have more participation, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Sunday after the first round of meetings to arrive at a consensus on the subject.
