UPA has a government which is not authoritative: Manish Tewari

Union cabinet has unanimously decided to withdraw the ordinance as well as the bill. This sends a message that UPA has a government which is not authoritative.

I have told my opinion on the ordinance earlier itself. If a mistake is committed, there is nothing wrong in rectifying it.

It is better late than never for the Congress

When PM is overruled by person half his age, it demeans his position. Sad day for democracy if ordinance withdrawn because of one person's objections.

We are glad we found one supporter for our opposition to the ordinance.

At least someone raised their voice, a decision was taken for the good of the country.

Nobody can complain about Rahul's comment that ordinance ill-advised. It's his manner of doing it that people complained about.

People are saying cabinet and prime minister are insulted but no it is not so. Party's decision will be superior than government's decision always.

It was because of our opposition that the Bill was referred to the Standing Committee. And when the Ordinance was promulgated, we voiced our opposition on day one and requested the President not to sign the Ordinance. We said the Ordinance was immoral, illegal and unconstitutional. We opposed the Bill. We opposed the Ordinance. What Cong is spreading since morning is complete falsehood.
