Buenos Aires:
Jose Manuel Riella, 103, married his partner of 80 years, Martina Lopez, 99, in a religious ceremony on Sunday at their home in Santa Rosa del Aguaray, around 200 kilometres (124 miles) north-east of the capital Asuncion.
The bride wore a traditional white gown with flowers woven into her hair while the groom opted for a smart dress-shirt.
The happy couple held hands as a priest conducted the ceremony in the presence of their huge family.
Lopez and Riella have eight children, 50 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and even 20 great-great-grandchildren, according to local media.
All but two of their children were able to attend the big day.
The couple could be seen exchanging rings during the ceremony, needing a little assistance from family members to get them on.
They had a civil wedding 50 years ago but never got round to the religious ceremony.
"My children asked us why we didn't get married, what are you waiting for, they asked," explained Lopez.
"We are very happy," she said, as guests lined up to offer their congratulations and gifts to the couple.
After the ceremony the couple posed for family photos, receiving applause from the younger generations on their special day.
