A US drone fired three missiles on Saturday in Pakistan's troubled northwestern tribal region near Afghan border, killing at least 13 people, including women and children.
The drone fired the missiles at the home of a tribesman in a village located 40 km from the headquarters of North Waziristan tribal agency, local residents said.
They said 13 bodies were pulled out from the rubble of the destroyed house and several women and children were among the dead.
It could not be immediately ascertained how may militants were killed in the drone attack.
More than 35 missile strikes in the region by the US-led coalition forces based in Afghanistan have killed over 350 people, most of them terrorists, since August 2008.
US President Barack Obama recently declared that Pakistan's border with Afghanistan was the most dangerous place in the world.
In his new Afghan-Pakistan strategy, Obama has stressed that if the US has high-value targets in the region within its sight it will go after them after consulting Islamabad.
