Shanghai : Fifteen people were killed and fourteen wounded in an attack in China's restive region of Xinjiang, the official Xinhua news agency said on Saturday, citing a statement from local authorities.
Eleven of those killed were described as "mobsters" who drove into a street of food stalls, threw explosive devices and stabbed people in the incident on Friday in Shache County, state-owned Xinjiang news website Tianshan News said.
It said detonation devices, large knives and axes were among items police seized from the scene.
