15 Pakistani Fishermen Missing After Their Boat Capsizes

Karachi: At least 15 Pakistani fishermen have gone missing after their boat capsized today in the Arabian Sea off the coast near Karachi.

The boat capsized near Mubarak village coastal belt this morning.

Pakistani navy choppers are conducting aerial sorties to locate the fishermen after high tide forced authorities to abort any plans to send out patrol boats, Colonel Omar Ahmed, a senior official of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency told PTI.

"The boat toppled over and cannot be sighted now because of the rough sea," he said.

An official of the Pakistan Fishermen Forum said fishermen had been cautioned to avoid going deep into the sea due to the high tides. "There were around 15 men on the boat and the search is going on for them," he said.
