Lahore: Three young women fell prey to "honour killing" in Punjab province of Pakistan, days after the stoning of a 25-year-old pregnant woman in Lahore.
A young woman was burnt alive while another strangled yesterday for marrying the man of their choice in Punjab.
In the third incident, a woman suffered serious bullet injuries over the same issue in Gujranwala district, some 80 kilometres from Lahore.
However, of late when she contacted her parents, they told her that they had forgiven her. On Thursday she visited her parents in Phalia village of Mandi Bahauddin.
A case has been registered against the accused with no arrest.
Police said Allah Mafi had married Anser of her village a few months ago. The couple returned to their village last week.
Police are raiding to arrest the culprits.
Her parents and other family members called her after assuring that she would not be taken to task of love marriage.
A passerby found a floating bag having a human body in it in the canal and he informed the police about it.
The police reached there and took it out. They shifted her in District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition.
