Violence has escalated in Pakistan's troubled north-west as US drones fired a barrage of missiles at a Taliban training centre, wiping out the complex and killing 40.
The drone attack was the latest in a series of bombings on militant hideouts in north and south Waziristan.
Although Islamabad publicly condemned the US drone attacks as an infringement of it's sovereignty, many believe that the US and Pakistan have a tacit understanding. For America, the drone attacks have been effective. They have killed key Al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders.
But the big catch for both countries is Baitullah Mehsud -- the mastermind of most suicide attacks in Pakistan in recent years.
With a 5 million dollar bounty on his head, Mehsud's network of terrorists are the most feared and the army's next move may be a full fledged operation will be south Waziristan, his hideout.
