5.7 magnitude jolts Pakistan, no casualty reported

Karachi: An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit parts of Pakistan's Sindh and Baluchistan provinces, but no casualties were reported from any place.

The met office said the epicentre of yesterday's earthquake was 63 kilometres south of Larkana in interior Sindh.

"Tremors were felt in parts of Sindh and Baluchistan but the jolts didn't hit the cities of Karachi and Quetta," MeT official Sardar Ahmed said.

The affected districts and towns were Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad in Sindh and Dera Murad Jamali, Naseerabad, Zhob in Baluchistan.

Television channels reported that people in the affected areas rushed out of their homes in panic after the jolts were felt.
