Tokyo:
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake shook Tokyo and other areas in eastern Japan on Friday, the meteorological agency said.
The quake took place at 9:46 am (0046 GMT), and caused buildings to sway in Tokyo.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in the Pacific off the coast of Ibaraki prefecture, some 130 kilometres from the Capital, according to the Japanese agency.
