HELSINKI, Finland: Swedish police say that the five people killed on Saturday when their car plunged off the road into a canal in Sweden were British citizens.
Stockholm Police spokesman Martin Bergholm said today the five victims were men aged between 20 and 35, but he declined to further identify them or give other details of the men, saying it was not a police matter.
He said the road was slippery and it was dark when the car drove off a highway bridge falling more than 25 meters (82 feet) into a canal near the Swedish capital. Their bodies were recovered by divers.
Bergholm said police were still investigating the cause of the accident on the E4 highway in Stockholm's Sodertalje district.
