Mexico City:
Five people have been killed in the crash of a small private plane in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua, the country's communications and transport ministry said on Sunday.
The Cessna 206 crashed on Saturday near the town of Santa Barbara, killing the pilot and four passengers, the ministry said.
Local press reports said the single engine plane went down shortly after takeoff from a small air strip known as Frisco, apparently after developing mechanical problems.
High winds and a heavy fog in the area may also have contributed, media reports said.
