Peshawar:
Six people have been killed and 40 injured in a car bomb blast in Peshawar's Saddar area, in Pakistan. The blast occurred in a parking lot of a bank.
Several cars and many buildings were damaged by the blast. Security officers have cordoned off the area after blast.
PTI adds: The blast occurred in a busy commercial area in the provincial capital of Peshawar in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
A car laden with explosives blew up outside a seven-storey building housing the offices of several banks.
The intensity of the blast was so severe that it also damaged other buildings in the area and destroyed about a dozen cars.
Police officials said at least six persons were killed in the blast, which occurred shortly before noon in the Saddar area of Peshawar's military cantonment.
The attack came hours after a suicide attacker rammed his explosive laden vehicles into a police station in nearby Bannu district also in NWFP, killing five people and leaving 60 others injured.
