Abducted Hindu engineer returns to Peshawar home

Peshawar: A Hindu man abducted almost two months ago by unidentified persons has returned home after being released on the outskirts of this northwestern Pakistani city, his family said on Monday.

Robin Singh, a computer engineer, was abducted by unidentified persons from a market on University Road in Peshawar on February 12. He was freed by his abductors at the Ring Road late last night.

Singh's family said the abductors released him without any ransom being paid. The identity of the abductors could not immediately be ascertained.

Singh's brother Rajan Singh had registered a case at West Cantonment police station.
The abduction came to light after President Asif Ali Zardari issued a statement condemning the kidnapping and directing authorities to take steps for tracing Singh.
