Actress Mila Kunis accepts US marine's YouTube invitation to ball

Los Angeles/ Kabul: A US marine has a date with Hollywood actress Mila Kunis - thanks to the power of the Internet.

Sergeant Scott Moore gained fame when he posted a video on YouTube inviting the actress, who starred in the film "Black Swan", to accompany him to a Marine Corps ball later this year.

The video shows the data systems technician standing in the grounds of a military base in Afghanistan, wearing his uniform and black sunglasses.

His message to the actress is brief and to the point.

"Hey Mila. It's Sergeant Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on November 18th in Greenville, North Carolina, with yours truly. So take a second, think about it and get back to me," he said.

Kunis learned of the video during an interview with Fox News Channel as she and Justin Timberlake promoted their new movie, "Friends With Benefits".

When asked whether she would accept the invitation, Timberlake urged her to fulfill her patriotic duties.

Kunis agreed, saying: "I'll go."

Her publicist had no comment on Tuesday when asked to confirm the date.

Moore, however, said that though he had not communicated directly with the actress, "I have heard back from her people."

The annual Marine Corps ball marks the founding of the US marines in 1775.
