Sydney: Former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott has promised to pay for a marble table in his old office that was found broken a day after he lost an internal party ballot for leadership within his party and in the government.
Mr Abbott hosted a party for his staff and colleagues on September 14 after a rebellion in the Liberal Party saw him being replaced by challenger Malcolm Turnbull, EFE reported on Tuesday.
"It was my event so I take responsibility for it," said Abbott.
According to media speculations, the table broke after someone climbed atop it and danced or jumped on it.
