Pop diva Christina Aguilera has issued a public apology after she botched America's National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
The 30-year-old singer made a blunder by singing the wrong lyrics of the patriotic song ahead of the big game on Sunday, reported Contactmusic.
Her mistake has led critics and bloggers to flock online to point her blunder, while the footage became very popular on clip-sharing website YouTube.
In a statement released by her, the Grammy-winning singer apologised for the incident.
"I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through," she said.
