Tehran:

In Iran, a day after the Presidential election results, opponents of incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clashed with police.

The supporters pelted the cops with rocks and setting fire in the worst unrest in Tehran in a decade.

Many protesters accused the hard-line president of using fraud to steal election victory from his reformist rival.

The extent of possible casualties and detentions was not immediately clear.

In a statement, the reformist candidate, Mir Hossein Mousavi, declared himself the true winner of and urged backers to resist a government based on "lies and dictatorship".

The election results gave 62.6 percent of the vote to Ahmadinejad and 33.75 to pro-reform candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi.
